The Rules of BRUN Language School
The following rules apply to French, English, Japanese and Latin lessons.
1. OTHER FEES
1-1. Admission fee and textbook
There is no admission fee. The student and the teacher will decide together on which textbook to buy.
1-2. LESSON FEE
â‘ Private Lesson : 3000 yen / 1 hour
â‘¡ Group Lesson : 2500 yen / 1 hour for one person
â‘¢ Group Lesson with family members: 2000 yen / 1 hour for one person
(Note: Lesson fee applies to students 11 years old or older. For students under this age, please contact our staff for further details.)
Each lesson is 1 hour. The last 5 minutes are reserved for assigning homework and making the next appointment. Lesson can be extended in 30 minutes interval, for example, to 1.5 hours or 2 hours upon request. The frequency of lesson can also be changed.
Lesson fee is the same for school, in-home or Skype lesson. However, in-home lesson is only available to students who are unable to travel to our school due to various reasons. Please note that extra charges may be required for in-home lesson.
* In-home lesson
Total fee = Lesson Fee + Transportation Fee (between school and your house) + Extra fee
The extra fee is calculated based on the traveling time at a rate of 3000 yen / 1 hour.
In the case of 30 minutes round-trip traveling time:
Total fee = 3000 yen lesson fee + round-trip transportation fee + 1500 yen extra fee
* Skype lesson
Each Skype lesson is limited to 1 hour only. If the lesson starts late, it will still finish on time according to schedule.
* Change from School lesson to Skype lesson
It is now possible to change a School lesson to Skype lesson for free. If the student is unable to come to school on the appointed day and would like to have a Skype lesson instead, please feel free to contact our staff to arrange the change. Please note that in the case of a 2- hour lesson appointment, only the 1st hour can be changed to Skype lesson. The 2nd hour will still be considered as same-day cancellation.
2. BOOKING SYSTEM
2-1. BOOKING YOUR LESSON
You can make the next appointment at the end of your lesson, on the phone or via e-mail. For bookings on the phone, an e-mail will be sent for confirmation. Your booking is complete after you reply to the confirmation email.
2-2. HOW TO PAY LESSON FEE
You can pay lesson fee one at a time or for multiple lessons at the same time.
â‘ Cash : Please pay after the lesson
â‘¡ Bank Transfer : Please pay the day before you booked your lesson. Please be aware that bank transfer fee is at your own expense.
â‘¢ Ticke Carte : A ticket card that lets you have 11 lessons for the price of 10 lessons. The price is 30,000 yen and it expires in 3 months. There is no refund for unused tickets.
2-3. CHANGE AND CANCEL A LESSON
If you would like to change or cancel a lesson, please contact us at least 24 hours before the appointment by sending us an email or leaving a voice message. In that case, we will not charge any fee. For any change or cancellation request in less than 24 hours before the appointment (even off by only 5 minutes or so), we will charge 100% of the lesson fee.
Example: If the appointment is on September 2nd at noon , you must contact us before September 1st noon to avoid cancellation fee.
The rule also applies to change and cancellation due to typhoon or similar reasons.
